In May 2008, CEI organized 352 party members raising 173,950 RMB as “special party membership fee” after the Wenchuan Earthquake, in the meanwhile, 948 employees raised 128,196 RMB. On 14 October 2008, in the donation of clothes and quilts to earthquake-stricken areas in Sichuan, 369 employees donated 139 new quilts, 10 blankets, 210 cotton-padded coats, 262 sweaters, 17 sweatshirts, and 101 other clothes, totaling 751 items equivalent to 37,550 RMB.
